what going on?
Delhi-based director Prateek Vats’ debut film,’Eeb Allay Ooo!’ , which is presented by Anurag Kashyap and was premiered at We Are Only One global film festival on Saturday, opens with a’special’ cite:’Special because of its monkeys of Lutyens’ Delhi.’ Reason? The monkeys are vitally crucial as any other key personality in the film, a social satire, which speaks concerning contractual tasks, struggles of the working class in the funding, among other things. ‘Eeb Allay Ooo!” , that has been shot like a documentary at locations across Delhi, tells its story through the journey of a young man, who’s just a brand new biography of a monkey repelling squad. We talked to the manager and the producer in regards to the film and the experience of shooting in the capital.
‘We kept waiting for the monkeys to come and give the exact responses we desired’
When many scenes from the film manage the fighter menace, a very significant difficulty in Lutyens’ Delhi, one wonders did the filmmakers – that shot with real animals – manage to get the shots and responses of the animals directly. Prateek shares,”It’s like fishing. You continue waiting before you succeed. There have been days we kept waiting for monkeys in the future, to provide us the specific reactions we wanted, after which there were days when we were surrounded by monkeys and mayn’t shoot! Cinematographer Saumyananda Sahi will go off on his own to catch the shots of those reptiles. I did not just want monkeys to be in the storyline, but I wanted them like a character in my picture.”
Shwetaabh Singh, the producer of the film who’s also from Delhi, says,”When we applied to the New Delhi Municipal Council’s (NDMC) permission, they sent a veterinary physician who was with us through the shoot.”
